What is going on in TV right now? Why is everyone being killed or nearly dying? Do we really need this amount of trauma?
I watched Grey’s Anatomy for the first time in probably a year. I thought it lost its sparkle. I saw part of the season finale online and I’m like “really? Another hospital explosion?” Anyway, I saw that some of the characters I like could be dead and I had to know. It would torment me if I didn’t. It was another brutal cruel death, similar to our girl Lexie, may she RIP. Monica now gets pinned to a wall, being crushed. She manages to help finish an operation by talking through the steps and then, she’s gone. No coming back. Yes, she wasn’t fully relevant and hadn’t been in it a long time but she actually added something to the story. It was evil. Why such a mean way to die? That was genuinely enough.
Hollyoaks, a major plane crash and explosion for the 30th anniversary. I haven’t seen the full episode, well, I may have by all the clips on my feed. Brutal again. Peri, she’s gone. I loved Peri. She saved Tom and got crushed by a chimney, she went in the most dramatic way. She was talking about how her Mum is her hero and thanking her for everything. I’m not okay. This was devastating. Then you’ve got, Nancy potentially being gone? We don’t know. Grace is gone. Jeremy Blake. He dies but that’s karma. He crashed the plane and then was pushed onto the spinning propeller. He was a serial killer so valid.
Who creates these stories? They’ve clearly been watching too much final destination. It’s horror movie vibes here. I’m hoping I can rely on my other series not to add to this season of death. Surely this is it? There can’t be more?
I know that it’s near Halloween and it’s a scary time where loads of us watch horror. TV is scarier than the movies at this point. Why do they have to kill characters instead of letting them leave happily? It’s not right. Nobody seems to get a happy ending anymore, it’s always depressing. I hate that some say death is a happy ending, no it isn’t, it really isn’t. I myself will die on that hill.
FYI, just because Lexie died and then Mark wanted to die to be with her, that doesn’t make it happy. It’s sweet but not happy. It’s traumatic.
