Elle is Beautiful! By Lola Louise

July 30, 2026

Okay, this is the most beautiful show I’ve watched in forever. I love everything about it, the colour contrast between Seattle & LA is perfection.

I’ve never related to the experience of being an outsider so much, it’s portrayed perfectly. I wear pink in a place where nobody wears colour, I stand out for the “wrong reasons” this show has made me feel more confident in myself and that I am going to continue to be myself.

Elle doesn’t fit in but she’s not scared to try new things while staying true to who she really is. She tries to sprinkle her pink dust everywhere. I love that she doesn’t try to make anyone change who they are, she celebrates them for who they are. It makes a difference.

Why have they made the whole show so dull? I swear, do we have to dumb it down? It’s dark to show how Elle feels about the place, over time, it gets brighter. It’s cinematic and it’s detailed. She brings colour to Seattle with her personality. It’s also to show how different she is and make her stand out more, so you’ll take notice. It’s genius. It’s portrayal to show she’s an outsider, in the easiest way possible without extra dialogue.

People are complaining about every aspect of the show and it’s ruining it. I nearly didn’t watch because of all the opinions. It is being slated.

I love how fast characters were built and established, there wasn’t loads of filler scenes, everything had a place or tied to a later part in the story. Even the little details can be appreciated, they went above and beyond. The fashion was beautiful. I miss good outfits.

My Grandma couldn’t believe actress Lexi wasn’t Reese, she kept looking. I couldn’t comprehend how alike they look, I don’t think the posters do the resemblance justice.

The show is set in 1995 about 6/9 years before the movie itself which is set in 2001/2004. To people complaining about friendships not being the same? People meet others in new settings. We don’t always keep our school friends.
“Seattle wasn’t mentioned. Elle went to private school” some people go to more than one school? Maybe Seattle isn’t mentioned because she’d be judged? In the series, her friends are sick of hearing about Seattle, if that’s the case, she’d know others aren’t interested. It’s also been years. Elle was 16 to likely 18, when she was at Seattle, it’s a big jump. Not everything is a continuity error, there’s possible explanations.

Season 2 was renewed before it even aired, they started filming January so hopefully it won’t be that long off. We might actually get a good turn around instead of waiting years for another season. I think people should give it a chance instead of being put off by opinions and clickbait. It’s not as bad as everyone is saying. They seem to completely underestimate that years can change a person, I mean how many of us are the same person from school to college? Not many.

Edit: Filming finished for S2, they practically did back to back filming.
