Recently uploaded to Disney + and out of general curiosity I wanted to know what the attraction is to essentially damaging parts of your body at even younger than I am.
Where I live I’ve seen people change themselves beyond recognition, I have to double take as they don’t look the same in any way. What is the appeal? Why do people want to disfigure themselves to follow short lived trends?
The root of all this insanity comes from Kylie Jenner in 2016 with her lips. People would suck on glasses and bottles as that’s apparently how she got hers. She then released her own product line to exploit. When the reality is her face is full of chemicals. From then on, people who are easily influenced have followed suit to be like the Kardashian’s in general as that’s what beauty is? I can’t understand it.
Jump 9 years later, you’ve got young children wanting work done to look like other people. It’s almost like brainwashing.
This documentary dives into the scarily real impact of aesthetics. It’s actually disturbing. Genuinely, there’s only one case where I think that the surgery was valid. It starts with one little thing and then everything. Your body turns to plastic. They’re never happy. You’ve got people wanting to mimic dolls, what? That’s not even possible. I want to know what goes through their brains if anything at all.
In the UK it’s going wild, anyone and everyone can train to do Botox and fillers. That shouldn’t even be allowed. There needs to be regulation.
How about the root cause is actually tackled instead? It’s mental illness. There should be mandated therapy to talk about why you’d want to do so much to yourself and for what? It doesn’t make you happier.
The only type I agree with is for genuine reasons. One woman barely had an upper lip and she felt sad about it, she now has one and is happy. Whereas others get it for vanity reasons. Nobody needs boobs bigger than a H, nobody, that is just crazy. Some people really need help and as long as this cosmetic culture promotes procedures, there’ll never be help.
It’s like sun beds, people are warned over and over about the UV rays, the skin cancer scares but they don’t care because it could never happen to them until it does. “But you sit in the sun?” The sun has less UV rays and they’re not right up to your skin, very different. Not sure why anyone would want to risk it for a tan. It’s not worth it.
Perfection does not exist. It doesn’t when it comes to humans. We’re all flawed and that’s the way it is meant to be.
