The Madison By Lola Louise

March 24, 2026

This is a beautiful story by Taylor Sheridan about grief, adventure and finding a new version of yourself in the wake of loss.

The title is named after the Madison river, which is featured in this cinematic show.

It follows Stacy Clyburn and her family as they try to establish life after husband, Preston and his brother, Paul are killed in a plane crash. From New York elite to the middle of the sticks, a world away from glamour. A world away from having a toilet inside.

I just have to admit, flying a Cessna in a storm is the stupidest idea ever. That’s common sense. Why would you take the risk?!

I think it’s really interesting, that people actually don’t know much about members of their family until after they are gone, they’re not interested in sharing certain experiences until they can’t anymore. It’s also important that they’re showing how someone not being there much as a parent makes it difficult to know who they really are and bond with them.

The scenery is beautiful, the sunsets, nature at its finest especially in contrast with NYC. You kind of realise that city life makes you miss out on the simplest of things. I can’t imagine barely seeing a sunset in your life, that’s sad.

The casting is on point, I honestly think they did amazing. A great ensemble that complements each other’s performances. You would believe they’re a real family.

One scene that I find funny because it is so real, everyone being on their phone at a restaurant, it’s become the new normal in society. “It’s so f*cking rude.” The speech was saying what many think. People don’t communicate as much and don’t have anything interesting to say to each other, as proven by the next line from character, Russel.

This is a must watch. Only 3 episodes are out at the moment, I just finished the pilot. It’s available on Paramount and other places that shouldn’t be named.

Update: I’ve watched all 3. It was bugging me where I recognised Abby from, she was Cloud in Firefly Lane.

The cat fight in episode 2 or 3 was wild. It came from nowhere. I’ve not seen a good fight like that in a long time. The way it was ended by a jug of water was too good. Probably since the Dynasty reboot of Fallon and Alexis in the pool, there’s been nothing as good. Meow.

3 more episodes drop 24th, bring it on. I am loving it.
