The Pitt: Dr Santos By Lola Louise

May 9, 2025

The character “everyone” hates apparently. Except I must be the odd one out as she’s my favourite. She’s blunt, confident and seen as trouble by people around her. She’s not afraid to take risks and speak out when things aren’t right. She has a lot of skills, I wouldn’t say that communication or bedside manner is her thing. She’s got the making of a great doctor, potentially a surgeon.

She’s the joker with the dark humour. As someone who is exactly that in real life, I know the place it comes from and that is bad experiences. We deal with the past by making light, otherwise how would we survive. She’s savage and I love that. Her anger for certain sensitive issues shows she has some connection.

We haven’t heard about her personal life yet but there’s some hints. She’s Filipino and speaks the language to other surprise. She’s likely a lesbian as there’s chemistry with Garcia that is off the charts. She goes into protective mode around sexual crimes which shows that she or someone she knows went through similar. She also reported issues with drug dispensary and drug misuse, someone in her family could have been an addict. There’s bread crumbs but that makes her more exciting.
She loves giving nicknames, it’s her way of being friendly, she wants to try to lighten the mood all the time. Potentially, she’s broken from the past and is putting on a front. She’s definitely neurodivergent in some way, I can’t figure out it yet, where she lies. I would have to have more details.

Loads seem to think she won’t succeed and won’t make it but I beg to differ. She’s going to find herself very soon. A new layer to her personality. I think after the most recent episode where she uses her knowledge and ambition for good, she’s going to realise where she fits. It could take her time to get there however. I mean, this is only one shift over 15 hours of TV. There’s more to go. It’s essentially one big movie.

I think for the future of her character, Garcia is going to be a guide and romantic interest in a conflicting way that will end up chaotic. I’m there for that. Let’s face it, people do meet their future partners at work.

I never thought I would love this show or even like it but there’s such a rush. There’s something about it that I can’t put words to yet.
