Forgotten Fields Festival launches in style

From the team that brought us the continually sold out Kendall Calling comes a band new small (4,000) but perfectly formed festival. Forgotten Fields kicked off yesterday with a line up most 15-20,000 events would be happy of.

With a heatwave on the cards for the weekend Basement Jaxx took to the main stage just after 9.30 last night and a sizeable crowd gathered in anticipation for what promised to be one of the stand out performances of the weekend.

Previously Public Service Broadcasting educated, amused and informed withtheir electro art rock set. But if that set was a little short on the dancing for the crowd they needn’t have worried. With their eclectic outfits and an abundance of singers and dancers on stage you could be forgiven thinking that you were in the heart and soul of a carnival in Rio. Basement Jaxx brought the carnival spirit to the site and seamlessly played through their hits.

Whipping the crowd into a fever with “Romeo”, “Oh My Gosh” and “Where’s My Head At”singer Vula Malinga belted out even with a foot injury and a hot pink crutch by her side chatting to the crowd and getting everyone involved.

Forgotten Fields continues Saturday 8th Aug and Sunday 9th Aug with performances from The Levellers, De La Soul, The Horrors, British Sea Power and many more.
