Secret sets eh? They’re the joy and the blight of every festival. We all want to be in on them, the festivals love them but the trouble is when word gets out about said band it spreads faster than herpes and sadly, also without much of a cure.

And thus 15,000 people tried to greet Circa Waves at 9pm last night at Glastonbury spilling out of the 2,000 capacity Williams Green tent like excitable little minions . Most were also probably hanging around for Everything Everything an hour after as that had just been broken too. Lord help us if they find out about The Killers, Harry Styles, Elbow, Arcade Fire (delete as is your desire) tonight at The Park Stage!

Bounding on to AC/DC Thuderstruckthey launched straight into recent single “Wake Up” and didn’t let off the pressure for the next thirty five minutes. Tracks like “Stuck” and “Fire That Burns” kept the crowd bouncing before winding up with a rousing version and communal sing a long of “T Shirt Weather” .All being told the perfect way to kick off the first dry Glasto since 1885.

Circa Waves have long declared their intention on being future headliners for Glastonbury.

Based on today’s performance they shouldn’t have to wait too long.
