After a weekend of many different types of music, we arrive at the Park stage ready to listen to two dance legends. First up, Leftfield, a band we associate primarily with their amazing beats.
We are not disappointed. Their bass, their drums, their guy who keeps nipping over to the bongos, we are treated to a full set full of loud, heavy beats, but its not dissonant or jarring. It’s, for us, a tremendous warm hug of sound which vibrates us to our core. It is less high energy, and more bliss. Pure dark bliss.
They’ve got two MCs who pop in and out, and after a weekend of new acts it’s great to be back in a club situation. The sun is setting, and we’re at home.
Leftfield seem to be too. As they close their set they give one of the most heartfelt thanks we’ve heard so far for a great night. They loved it, we loved it.
