Holy Moly and The Crackers at Hop Farm 2012

June 29, 2012

Holy Moly & The Crackers are the second band of the day that Supajam has slipped into the festival line-up. Opening the Bread & Roses stage, they managed to draw a crowd of about 500 people and were pleasantly surprised at how full the tent was. Bless them.

Those who had ventured from the womb of their tents were rewarded with exciting slabs of raucous folk with rousing vocals. Some energetic violin added a gypsy romance to the excitement of the guitar, drums and accordian. Many of the songs were about late-night debauchery of some sort: dangers of alcohol, someone dying of cocaine and a guy who leaves home after a night out instead of just going to bed.

A small contingent had even began pogoing, luckily this didn’t spread throughout the whole crowd. It’s only 1:03pm for goodness sake, you have to draw a line somewhere. Although I’d like to see them in a rowdy pub some time.

There was something for everyone here, young and old. A Dad (I assume) was nodding his head enthusiastically while his son filmed part of the set on his Nintendo DS. This is illegal, so I punched him. No I didn’t.

But seriously, these guys were great fun and Supajam are Supaproud to present them to the crowd here today.
