Hearing these guys soundcheck made us instantly sit up and take notice and we were not disappointed by the set. Incorporating samples and electronic drum loops of the tenorion combined with bass , guitar and drums this band are ones to watch! Honeytone Codey had an excitingly original sound that combined elements from bands such as Unkle and Portishead. Dark vocals were contrasted with forceful and powerful ones that were reminiscent at times of old Siouxsie Sioux vocal lines. We absolutely loved the creative live percussion which made for an great band dynamic. Not only were the band interesting to watch live with a variety of sounds, but the set seemed to fit together perfectly whilst retaining originality within each song. Honeytone cody were undoubtedly ‘ear-catching’ so keep your eyes peeled for these guys, they are recording a new studio EP this year!
