A chanting gothic intro to a track gets spirit-fingers flickering high into the evening sky. A striding bass kicks in. A young man in a Poborsky shirt darts towards the stage and begins a deep funk-dance. It begins to rain lightly. These things are definitely connected.
Pony Bravo are four men from Seville who bust out some solid Blues-Rock with other bits thrown in. Long, tight jams are reminiscent of a certain recently reformed band who are playing on Saturday night. The synth guy looks slightly like Supar Mario on holiday, to someone too lazy to think of a better comparison. He often adds some really nice flavours onto the smooth rhythm section.
It has to be said, I loved the playing of the rhythm section. The bassist was right next to the drummer, looking at him and just feeling every beat. They locked in to create some serious drama later in the set. A light rave vibe builds up and hands are definitely waved in the air.
