Shows in front of a subdued, hungover crowd is always difficult – however, The Carpels took to the stage with determined edge. With a quirky edge and a powerful core, The Carpels dazzled the increasingly-interested crowd. Though at times a little samey, a strength in baritone vocals and catchy-synth lines were more than enough. I usually find it difficult to get on with bands of this ilk, but in a festival guise – they were more than welcomed.
