The Dash Live At Strawberry Fields 2012

August 11, 2012

Early evening approached and food beckoned. When I caught the end of local-reggae act Paradimes, I felt that The Strawberry Jamstage had a lot to offer. Lovely sound, darkened lighting and a smaller capacity go very far in a festival environment – and this certainly applies to this year’s Jamstage. The Dash then took to the stage.

If you’re looking for a straight-up, punk outfit – go see The Dash. Rarely treading ground that is unfamiliar for the genre, the put an onus on loyalty to the boundaries that punk stalwarts ‘The Ramones’ or ‘The Sex Pistols’ set years before. Though the songs could be called inconsistent, a thoroughly passionate performance accompanied with charm was enough to make a grown man smile. The highlight of the set arrived at the midmark, when the crowd erupted into rapturous dancing and the show span into disarray for the band’s best two tracks.
