The nominated acts for the 2025 Mercury Music Prize are out and there’s a number of record breakers.

Wolf Alice are on it, meaning they are the only band to ever be nominated for their first four albums.

Martin Carthy becomes the oldest ever nominee at 84 for his folk.

PinkPantheress has the shortest ever nomination with a mere 20 minute mixtape. There’ll be complaints if that wins.

Also, Pulp’s new LP is on the list.

CMAT – Euro-Country
Emma-Jean Thackray – Weirdo
FKA Twigs – Eusexua
Fontaines DC – Romance
Jacob Alon – In Limerence
Joe Webb – Hamstrings and Hurricanes
Martin Carthy – Transform Me Then Into a Fish
Pa Salieu – Afrikan Alien
PinkPantheress – Fancy That
Pulp – More
Sam Fender – People Watching
Wolf Alice – The Clearing
