A self portrait by Kurt Cobain sells for over a quarter of a million dollars
In 1992 Kurt Cobain did a little sketch, which is technically a self-portrait. On this little bit of paper he also wrote “Kurdt Kobain Rock Star” and “I don’t know how to play and I don’t give a hoot!” The sketch was given to photographer Jacque Chong, while Kurt was in Singapore on the Nevermind trail.
All of which is cute, but now the artefact has sold for $281,250 at auction, which is a tidy sum.
