Terrible news from the film set of Rust today, where a misfire with a prop gun has killed Director of Photography Halyna Hutchins and injured director Joel Souza. The gun was fired with no ill intent by Alex Baldwin.
Hutchins was flown to hospital but passed away from the injuries, and the police have said no charges have been filed, this was a terrible accident with the prop gun. Alec is said to be deeply upset.
Prop guns do, occasionally, lead to accidents, such as the fatal accidental shooting of Brandon Lee on the set of The Crow.
