Over the years, the BBC’s coverage of Glastonbury has evolved into a powerhouse, with masses of streams for plenty of quality acts. Couldn’t go? At least you can get some enjoyment from it all by watching at home. A far cry from the days of maybe getting two songs from your fave if you were lucky on BBC2.

Well, 2020’s version of the physical festival was Covid-canned, and the BBC and Glasto teamed up to produce a huge amount of archive programming. There were sets drawn from across festival history, as well as a few live performances.

So how was this received?

So far there have been 10.2 million views, and there’s still a month of access time left. Emily Eavis noted “Wow, for a year without a festival it really was our biggest gathering yet… over 10 million people tuned in.”
