Black Deer Festival 2020 might have gone the same way as the rest of the year’s events – Corona stops play – but they’ve going to keep the vibes going across the summer with their new hub of content: The Pick. For their introductory post they’ve started with no less than one of the hardest questions to pin right down: What is Americana?
It might sound easy, but the genre is wide and deep and prone to being described just with clichés. BDF want you to know what it’s really like. To tackle this they’ve got an essay on their website illustrated with some choice tracks, as well as slipping an eight minute video, featuring some excellent acts, onto Youtube.
