Emily Barker’s best known appearance in popular culture is her song for detective show Wallander, and embarrassingly we’ve never seen that… so I guess we’ll have to talk about her hugely impressive resume of country / folk / Americana both with other acts and under her own solo name. She can do all of those and feel completely at home in all, and can make her voice reach straight into your heart and squeeze it.
We’ve got Emily Barker and the Red Clay Halo kicking off our embeds with a live version of Nostalgia which is simply perfection. I mean, do we need any other songs or will you just stick that on five or six times in a row? You might wonder why we’ve gone with the Wallander song but you won’t in 5.25 time.
We’ve also got environmentally conscious Where Have The Sparrows Gone from 2020, and a live cut right back in 2012 called In The Winter I Return.
Black Deer Festival 2021 is June 25th to 27th at Eridge Park in Kent. Tickets from here.
