At Black Deer Focus we’ve tended to, err, focus on bands lower down the bill than headliners, because let’s face it what can we add to a Van Morrison introduction that hasn’t been done a million times over several decades. However, even though Jake Bugg is headlining, he needs a focus.
Why? A few years ago Jake Bugg broke onto the music scene, was massively hyped, and… well for some people he vanished. For instant a friend messaged us after the lineup reveal confused. “Jake Bugg still makes music?” Yes, yes he does, and although it’s flown under the indie radar it’s very good and probably on twenty adverts without you realising.
So, take a spin of ‘All I Need’ which premiered at the end of last year, and find as good an indie song as anything hitmaker like The 1975 have released. Enjoy the tour hype film he’s made, because this whole series is a tour hype thing, and then rattle through Kiss Like The Sun wondering how he hasn’t aged in eight years.
