To be honest, if you’re like us you’d have read the name Orange Goblin and hoped for a metal band, ideally narrating some far off sword play while drinking real ale. Well, we don’t know what the band drink (they do sell covers for your beer can), but we do know they play the full gamut of metal.
2021 marks a 26th anniversary of existence for Britain’s Orange Goblin, with highs, lows and many a sub genre charge through. They’re at ease with Led Zeppelin, they’re comfortable with stoner and sludge, they like a denim jacket, and if you like them well there’s an excellent back catalogue for you.
So, do you like them? We’ve got a few cuts for you today, starting with Made of Rats, a steam train of a song that perfectly matches the sparse visuals of Valhalla Rising which some naughty person has cut it to. Then we’ve got a vocal appearance from dark cosmic beings in Red Tide Rising, and finally we have their full 2020 set at the European Metal Festival Alliance.
Black Deer Festival 2021 is June 25th to 27th at Eridge Park in Kent. Tickets from here.
