Yesterday Ed Sheeran revealed he’d rather not be included on the new Band Aid single, which reused a vocal he recorded a decade ago… but he wasn’t asked, so he couldn’t decline.
News today that is that Band Aid supremo Bob Geldorf has “put a call in” to Ed, confident “they’ll work it out.” Given that Geldorf has the subtlety of a charging rhino, it’s unclear how this will work out.
Journalists have now been trying to find out what, if any, permission was needed or sought to re-use the old vocals, but Band Aid isn’t talking.
