Jon Bon Jovi was filming a video at one end of a bridge when he noticed a woman preparing to jump off it and kill herself. Many people were walking past, but he walked over to her.
In video footage, he can be seen talking to the woman, persuading her to climb back over, giving her a hug and leading her away.
Police have thanked him.
