It’s might have been trendy to bash Bono recently but there’s no getting away from the fact he’s written some very good songs and… what, this isn’t about songs? He’s doing what?
Yes, Bono has announced a fourteen date world book tour, because he’s written a sort of memoir. Called ‘Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story’, the 576 page whopper sees Bono explore his life and career by exploring the story behind forty of his songs, which even if you hate U2 you must admit could be a great read.
The ‘Stories of Surrender’ tour starts November 2nd in New York, and will include “an evening of words, music and some mischief”. Bono explained “In these shows I’ve got some stories to sing, and some songs to tell. Plus I want to have some fun presenting my ME-moir, SURRENDER, which is really more of a WE-moir if I think of all the people who helped me get from there to here.” Okay that does sound a bit cheesy.
