Chappel Roan had been due to play some small European shows before the got an invite from the VMAs, and no one should begrudge her switching to go and play that.
And… oh boy did she play that.
Going full medieval, with her and her dancers in suits of armour and a castle on fire, she completely stole the show and did a true pop star moment.
