It’s one of the all time classic Saturday Night Live sketches: Will Ferrell is a member of Blue Oyster Cult trying to record Don’t Fear the Reaper, while Christopher Walken is the producer demanding more cowbell.
However, Farrell – who wrote it – has now revealed Walken hates it, and for good reason.
Farrell said in 2010 he went to see Walken on Broadway, where the latter told him ‘You know, you’ve ruined my life… every show, people bring cowbells for the curtain call and bang them… It’s quite disconcerting.’”
Blue Oyster Cult love it.
