Oppenheimer star Cillian Murphy has been speaking to NME, and we had no idea the band he’d formed with his brother was offered a five album deal by the Acid Jazz label.
However, Murphy turned it down. “I just never thought that I was good enough really,” he said. “It’s why I haven’t, you know, pursued the music either. I like to do one thing quite well.”
If you’re imagining what it sounded like, they were named The Sons of Mr Green Genes after a Zappa song and featured “wacky lyrics and endless guitar solos”.
A lost gem.
