Creeper’s Will Gould occupies one of those rare spots for us, in that we’ve never heard him do a bad song. He’s done vocals on two Creeper albums, as well as an EP with a side project called Salem, and has a 100% hit rate… so imagine our excitement to hear that Salem are getting a second EP, even if it is just called ‘Salem II’. It’ll be out May 7th.
The single from it is ‘Draculads’ which is “an over the top love song literally about falling in love with a vampire,” and he’s not wrong. The video is marvellosuly nostalgic, and as Will puts it “a period piece and tells the story of two punk rock kids dating in England, in 1985… It was filmed in one single day and shot at many historic musical landmarks in Manchester.
For the two indoor scenes I built sets in my apartment, at one point transforming my own bedroom into the home of one of our characters. It is chaotic and romantic, destructive and dramatic just as the song it was shot for.”
