Damon Albarn recently spoke to Les Inrockuptibles about ‘The Magic Flute II, La Malédiction,’ his new electronic opera.
During the conversation he was asked what else he’s up to and he replied “I’m finishing a new Gorillaz album. One opera and one new Gorillaz album seems like enough for 2025! Unless someone accuses me of taking my foot off the gas!”
If that’s not enough of a clue, Gorillaz’ other creator, Jamie Hewlett, posted on Insta “Yes, the new album is coming out this year.”
