Legendary guitarist David Gilmore played his black 1969 Fender Stratocaster on every Pink Floyd album from 1970 to 1983, which means albums like Dark Side of the Moon and the Wall.
A pretty damn famous instrument.
Well it went for auction at Christie’s and after a twenty one minute bidding war it sold for $14.6 million, which is about £10.9 million.
Incredible.
This makes it the most expensive guitar ever sold, taking the record from Kurt Cobain’s 1959 Martin D-18E which sold for $6 million.
