Dizzee Rascal had been due to play an outdoor gig at 6pm tonight, on the Margate Steps (in, err, Margate), right by the sea. Dizzee posted an advert asking fans to “pull up.”

However, the event was cancelled shortly before starting. The promoter – Margate Summer Series – claimed “Dizzee Rascal will be rescheduled due to filming taking place in Margate today. Hold tight, more news coming soon.”

This looks like saving face, as another event organiser in the area soon realised the gig had a major problem: it was completely illegal. They had no permission to be on the land, they had no medics, planning or anything. The council also realised, and people told the promoter to axe this before some lawsuits followed.
