Duran Duran have said before they will only play Glastonbury if they get the right slot, but in a new Sunday Times interview they’ve gone into detail.

Asked why they’ve never played Glasto, Simon Le Bon explained “Well, we want to – but not in a disco tent at 3pm, which is what we were offered… We want the right slot… We shouldn’t be below anybody on the bill. So, we’ll hold out because we’re a headline act – that’s all there is to it.”

Should Duran Duran headline in the second decade of this century? There’s been older acts with no voice left topping the bill (and whatever the hell the Arctic Monkeys were meant to be doing that year), so why not let Duran Duran do it? Seems reasonable.
