Elton John stole the entire Glastonbury Festival Sunday night, and our people on the ground told us this was the biggest crowd they’ve ever seen. Elton was able to fill his entire set with solid gold hit after solid gold hit but still found the time to shine a spotlight on new talent.

However, it wasn’t just almost the entire festival watching.

At home, viewers across the nation tuned in. The BBC have revealed that 7.3 million viewers were watching, which is the biggest ever audience for a Glastonbury set on the television (and three times more than Macca last year.)

Elton says this was his last ever UK show. What a send off.
