It’s nearly time for FIFA 23, and that means a lot of people not going outside as they level up a fourth division club to Champions League winner. However, FIFA 23 is going to feature a major change: no Russian clubs, be they the national team or normal teams, will be involved. They’ve been axed because of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The developed told Eurogamer: “In line with our partners at FIFA and UEFA, EA Sports will not include the Russian national team or Russian clubs in FIFA 23… EA Sports stands in solidarity with the Ukrainian people and like so many voices across the world of football, calls for peace and an end to the invasion of Ukraine.”
