Tickets have sold out and there is finally now a confirmed act for Glastonbury in 2025: none other than pot hole repair expert Rod Stewart.
The legendary rocker will play the coveted Sunday afternoon Legends slot, and commented “After all these years, I’m proud and ready and more than able to take the stage again to pleasure and titillate my friends at Glastonbury in June. I’ll see you there!”
Emily Eavis said “Bringing Sir Rod Stewart back for the Sunday afternoon slot on the Pyramid stage is everything we could wish for. What a way to bow out with the final legends slot before we take a fallow year. We cannot wait!”
This has us wondering who should play this slot in future years, when the festival returns after a year off in 2026:
Pulp
Rod Stewart headlined the festival in 2002, Pulp did so before that so surely qualify. They’re one of Britain’s greatest bands, are currently reformed and gigging and maybe there will be new music by then?
Kylie
Kylie Minogue has unfinished business with Glastonbury and a recent career resurgence would be a perfect time for her to play. Let’s be honest though, after Padam Padam she could headline.
Cher
Cher has said she wants to play the festival, so hopefully her team and Emily’s team can work something out, it would be a classic afternoon.
Sting
He’s touring, he’s got years of songs to pick from, his voice appears intact… but would be pull out enough Police numbers?
