Oasis and Taylor Swift have been using online ticket queues recently, and Glastonbury have announced they will use the same thing going forward, starting with the sales which take place in a few days.
What does this mean? No logging onto the online retailer and refreshing the page. Once tickets go on sale everyone online will be “randomly assigned a place in the queue” which will serve people in order. Everyone logging on after that goes to the back of the queue.
From Glastonbury’s perspective, not having constant refreshes reduces server load and means everything might go smoothly.
You still need to be registered in advance.
Some people have complained it’s a ballot, but a ballot is perfect.
However, using multiple tabs or devices can trigger anti-bot software and boot you, so don’t do that.
