James Blake will be releasing a new LP called ‘Friends That Break Your Heart’ on October 8th, and he’s just dropped a new cut from it. Called ‘Famous Last Words’, it has the famous Blake vocal and some warm electronics…
…but we have to admit we find the whole package a marvellously unsettling number. Not in a dress up as a skeleton and talk about murder way, but a subtle, macabre one coming out from the tune. At the same time it’s beautiful but alien and otherworldly, warm but sad, and yet still optimistic.
It really repays repeated listens.
