Performer Jake Holmes has sued Jimmy Page over Led Zeppelin hit ‘Dazed and Confused’ before, and here’s the context:

That lawsuit established the timeline that Holmes wrote and recorded Dazed and Confused, played it when opening for the Yardbirds and they started playing their own version of the song. Page was in the Yardbirds, formed Led Zep and they released their version of the song, which became a massive hit. Holmes sued, and now the Led Zep version has the songwriting credit inspired by Jake Holmes.

So why a second lawsuit? Yardbirds material has been released which includes their versions of the songs, but Holmes is not credited. He’s suing to get those credits too.

So far Page has not made a public response.
