Kevin Spacey’s new film role sounds ill advised

Let’s begin with the context. Franco Nero is starring in and directing a low3 budget indie film called L’uomo Che Disegno Dio, or The Man Who Drew God. Filmitalia have a summary: “the rise and fall of a blind artist who has the extraordinary gift of making true-to-life portraits just by listening to human voices…”

So what’s the issue? Well, Nero has gone for some stunt casting to boost publicity and given Kevin Spacey his first role since the sexual assault allegations forced him to step back. We’re not saying whether giving him a job is good or bad, all we’re saying is that this job is bad: reportedly, Spacey will play a policeman investigating someone falsely accused of child sexual abuse.

Yeah that’s going to go well.
