Lana Del Rey was collecting an Ivor Novello Award today, and was asked if she’d ever do a Bond theme. She replied, “I mean, how has that not happened?”

But then it got awkward, because it turned out she had and it was rejected… She started singing her song 24 and added “I wrote that for them.”

The eventual theme was recorded by Sam Smith and he won the Oscar.

“Sam, you did a wonderful job… One day, maybe… But I’m going to continue to do my little Nancy Sinatra thing every now and then and just pretend it’s the title track.”
