Jay Z might be the famous co-owner of Tidal, but it was founded by a Norwegian company and it is to their courts we turn today. Norwegian newspaper Dagens Næringsliv have accused tidal of using fraudulent streaming figures, and a court in the country has agreed today that the government can investigate it all.

So what exactly are they saying? At a time when Tidal was promoting exclusive releases in a streaming war where they were trying to convince consumers and bands to use them, they are accused of lying about the number of streams those exclusives got by hundreds of millions, to look better.

The Norwegian Supreme Court Appeals Committee has allowed the probe.
