It doesn’t matter what Boris Johnson announces this Sunday when it comes to lockdown: there will not be a Notting Hill Carnival in 2020.
The event had been due to take place on the last days of August, but Corona has just made this impossible: “the reality of the COVID-19 pandemic and the way in which it has unfolded means that this is the only safe option,” an official statement said. “Everyone’s health has to come first.”
This is the first time it has ever been cancelled.
