Yesterday, Radio X launched their new station dedicated to Classic Rock, calling it, err, Classic Rock. There were a few unanswered question though, and we’ve been giving it a listen and the following conclusions:
There is only one show a day with a DJ, and that DJ is good, so no annoying chatter.
Most importantly, while this is a commercial station, the adverts aren’t often or intrusive, in fact they’re barely noticeable. This is not one of those awful one song an hour stations.
Good mix of eras, playing everyone you’d expect. Nothing too obscure, but there’s no problem with frequent repeats.
Overall, a good first impression.
