There is a big movie project underway: make four films, each about one of the Beatles, all connecting together. They’ve got permission from all the estates, they’ve got Sam Mendes, although we’ve not yet met anyone excited about it.

Anyway, in theory getting cast as one of the Beatles will be huge and it’s all currently very secret. Unless you’re Ridley Scott, when you can seemingly accidentally confirm who’ll be playing Paul McCartney.

Scott was speaking to fellow genius director Christoper Nolan at the Directors Guild of America, and replied to a question about whether Scott wanted to work with Paul Mescal again, on the forthcoming The Dog Stars.

“Yes… Maybe. Paul is actually stacked up, doing the Beatles next. So I may have to let him go.”

This seems to confirm rumours that Mescal will play Paul McCartney.
