Ezra Edelman has been working for four years on a documentary about Prince, having been given access to the singer’s own archives. He was asked to create six episodes and he’s made nine, and he showed representatives of Prince’s estate…

…and they fucking hated it. The estate are saying it’s filled with huge factual inaccuracies and sensationalises events, while the pushback from the other side is it’s suspected the estate weren’t happy it wasn’t positive enough about Prince.

What happens next is unclear. It’s been called dead in the water, but it’s said a compromise might be possible.
