Pussy Riot were filming a video for a song called Rage this weekend, when Russian cops arrived in mass at the studio to shut down filming. Why, you may ask? Well, it’s not like Russian cops need a reason to do anything, but they were acting under Russia’s 2013 hate law banning ‘gay propaganda’ and shit filming down as it was an ‘extremist activity’.
They filmed as much as they could before the cops cut the power, and here’s their video. It’s worth mentioning how much this cost Pussy Riot is cash – “We lost $15k on the video production today because of the absurd ‘gay propaganda’ law, and we’ll be thankful if you share this info and/or be kind enough to help us to raise the money to make this video happen anyway.” – as well as how much gay Russians lost in terms of one more piece of hate thrown against them.
