When Rage Against the Machine had to pull out from Reading and Leeds 22, and when the festival couldn’t organise an adequate replacement, some people wanted refunds. After all, they mainly wanted to see RATM, or a top tier heavy act. Now they were being brushed off with the 1975.
Problem was, Ticketmaster was initially saying no to refunds. Well, good news for people who persisted (and if you want a refund, this whole new story is so you start persisting), as the BBC are reporting refunds are starting to come through.
They cite Harriet Langsbury who wanted refunds on 6 £120 tickets and was told no… until now, when the refund has gone through: “It took them nearly a week to actually reply to me,” she told Radio 1, there was “some back and forth” and now she’s refunded.
However other fans are still stuck being told no, so it’s going to be a polite battle showing them these other precedents. But it can be done! Just don’t get angry or rude.
