Let’s cut to the good bit: in an interview with Metro, Rick and Morty producer Scott Marder said of a movie length version “I think it will happen. I do think it will happen.” Which is good news for fans of the hyper active sci-fi animation, although whether our nervous systems can keep up with a ninety minute movie is in some doubt.
Marder knows this too, also saying to Metro: “It’d be daunting, I wouldn’t be shocked if there was one that comes down the pipe one day… feel like every episode is a movie. I’d like to see what a movie would be, I feel like we pack so much in. It’d have to be pretty epic.”
Voice artist on the show Spencer Grammar has some suitably grand ideas: “It’d have to be something so big – like a 3D interactive movie that also has a theme park. I don’t know if you could just do a straight movie… There are those 4D movie theatres in New York City.”
Spencer sounds like someone who dream viewing of Jurassic Park would feature the front row being eaten. And why not.
