Forbes estimates that pop star Rihanna is now worth $1.7 billion, and we’re going to have stop introducing her as ‘pop star’: businesswoman would be a better term.
Why? Because the bulk of Rihanna’s wealth didn’t come from her music. Yes, that set her up with a reputation to promote, but Forbes estimates that $1.4 billion of her wealth comes from the fifty per cent stake she owns in Fenty Beauty, a company named after her: her original name is Robyn Fenty.
Fenty Beauty is just five years old, but the aim to make beauty products truly inclusive has worked.
