As the BBC asks itself, what’s it going to take to get people watching Dr Who and buying merch again, they settled on the only real answer: Russell T Davis. Yes, the man who relaunched nu-who is coming back to save it again.
Davies, who I don’t think has ever had a bad show, will be taking over the 60th anniversary and seasons beyond, and will pick the next Doctor.
Of course, he’s keen to keep you watching till then: “There’s a whole series of Jodie Whittaker’s brilliant Doctor for me to enjoy,” he said, “with my friend and hero Chris Chibnall at the helm,” he continued. “I’m still a viewer for now.”
No Russell, you are the king beyond the water.
